Common sports injuries and how they are treated
Injuries during sports are common and the injuries that occur obviously depend on the sport. Common injuries almost regardless of sport are sprains and muscle strains and the pain this causes. These injuries can be both prevented and treated. Wounds are also common injuries in sports, but most often simple plasters are enough for these injuries. Muscle atrophy
A muscle tear occurs when the muscle is overloaded and muscle fibers break or become damaged. This causes local pain and also often causes local bleeding when small vessels break. In order to reduce the time of injury, it is important to prevent this bleeding. By quickly applying an elastic bandage around the injury, you can prevent the bleeding and thereby relieve pain and reduce the time until you can use the muscle again.
Spraining
Sprains are especially common in the ankle. These occur when the foot is bent in an unnatural position and the ligament is thus overstretched. When the ligament is overstretched, it is damaged and even in this case, small vessels often break and cause local bleeding, which prolongs the healing time. The treatment is thus the same as for a muscle tear, to quickly apply an elastic bandage around the injury.
Pain relief
As pain relief, cooling spray or cooling bags work best, which can be supplemented with paracetamol or ibumentin if necessary.
