IP-klassning för hjärtstartare

IP rating for defibrillators

Protection class or IP rating is indicated by two numbers, for example IP 55. This is a way of indicating how protected the defibrillator or case is usually against objects and water. The first of the two numbers indicates the protection class against objects and the second number indicates the protection class against water. Sometimes they are written together, but they can also be written separately. For example, IP 55 can also be written as IP 5X and IP X5.

A common protection classification for defibrillators is IP 55, which means that no objects can penetrate and that it is not affected by dust and that it is protected against a water jet.

IP 68 is the highest protection class and means that it is completely sealed against particles and water.
