Absorbent dressings are compresses with high absorbency. These are well suited for oozing wounds. Most absorbent dressings require you to attach them to the wound in some way, usually with a bandage, tape or staple. As the bandages can become quite heavy as they absorb liquid, a bandage is preferable as a fastening method.
