Vanliga frågor om powder sprinklers
What is a powder sprinkler?
It is a self-contained container of extinguishing powder installed above a limited hazard area. A heat-sensitive glass bulb opens the valve at the specified temperature and releases the powder. It requires no pipework or electrical power but does not automatically replace a designed sprinkler system for a building.
What area do the units cover?
Presto states up to 9 m² for the 6 kg model and up to 14 m² for the 12 kg model. Coverage depends on correct positioning and mounting height. Do not rely only on floor area; the hazard's shape, surroundings and the fire-safety design influence the appropriate solution.
Where can a powder sprinkler be used?
The manufacturer lists small spaces and point hazards, including stores for flammable equipment, refuse rooms, containers and certain industrial processes or machines. Install and inspect it according to the data sheet. If sizing or regulatory requirements are uncertain, ask a competent fire-safety specialist to assess the installation.
