Vanliga frågor om fresenius kabi
What is sodium chloride 9 mg/ml used for?
The solution is isotonic, meaning it has the same salt concentration as body fluids, and is used for wound cleansing, eye irrigation and flushing. It does not irritate tissue the way plain water or alcohol does, which is why it is the first choice for cleansing open wounds.
Can an opened ampoule be saved for later?
No. The contents are sterile until the pack is opened, after which the solution can become contaminated. Discard the remainder even if most of it is left. That is also why 30 ml ampoules are stocked alongside the larger bottles.
Which chlorhexidine concentration should I choose?
That depends on local hygiene protocol and on what is being cleansed, not on the product itself. The range holds 1 mg/ml and 2 mg/ml. Follow the protocol that applies where you work — chlorhexidine is not used on every wound type, and the guide covers when it is appropriate.
