About the product
Eclipse Signal BD Vacutainer Blood Collection Needles are disposable medical grade stainless steel needles. They have a threaded hub that fits into the thread of all BD Vacutainer® holders. The venipuncture end of the needle has a tip that is specially designed to easily enter the skin during venipuncture. The needle is lubricated with silicone. Needles are available in 1-1/4 inch and 21 and 22 gauge, with and without integrated holder. Needle size and lot number are printed on each individual needle unit.
Latex-free products have a sheath that covers the non-patient (NP) needle that prevents leakage of blood into the hold during blood collection. The tube slides into the holder and is pushed onto the NP needle, causing the vacuum to draw blood into the tube to a predetermined level.
