What sets Scanpor apart from ordinary tape

The tape is made from non-woven viscose with an acrylic adhesive, a combination chosen for skin that is taped repeatedly. The material lets air and moisture through, so the skin underneath does not macerate as easily during longer use.

The tape tears crosswise by hand, without scissors — which matters when your hands are already occupied or when the tape needs tearing into several short pieces.

Width and holder

2.5 cm is enough for securing compresses, cannulas and tubing. 5 cm is used when a larger dressing must stay put or the tape has to carry more.

The roll with holder has a dispenser with a cutting edge. The refill roll fits the same holder, so the holder is bought once and the rolls topped up.

Vanliga frågor om norgesplaster

What is the difference between surgical tape and a plaster?

A plaster has a pad that covers the wound, while surgical tape only fastens — it is used to hold compresses, cannulas and tubing in place. Tape is bought on a roll and cut or torn to the length needed, rather than coming in pre-cut pieces.

Does the refill roll fit all holders?

The refill is intended for Scanpor's own holder in the corresponding width. Buy the holder once and top up with refill rolls — it costs less per metre and produces less packaging. Check that the width matches; 2.5 cm and 5 cm have separate holders.

Can the tape be used on sensitive skin?

Scanpor is made with an acrylic adhesive and a non-woven material that lets air and moisture through, and is often used where skin is taped repeatedly. If a patient still reacts to the tape it should be replaced with another fixation material — always check the skin at each dressing change.
