Lithium-ion batteries are found in, for example, mobile phones, tablets and laptops and are associated with a special form of fire risk. With the battery's high energy content, plenty of extinguishing agents are required even for small units to achieve sufficient cooling in the event of a fire.
In addition to our lithium fire hydrant, Presto has two models for extinguishing lithium-ion batteries: the fire extinguisher LB6 and the fire extinguisher LB50. Both are equipped with an extinguishing lance that allows you to get close to the fire and distribute the extinguishing agent gently with small drops of water. The emptying time is long and the extinguishing agent is a highly effective liquid which, due to its low surface tension, can quickly penetrate into the burning material and extinguish it by cooling. Around the battery there are other materials that may be ignited by the battery and that also need to be extinguished and cooled. Presto LB6 and LB50 also extinguish A and B fires, which have been tested according to the current European standard EN3-7.
Good choice for the environment - Presto LB6 and LB50 are manufactured with the ambition to have as little environmental impact as possible. For example, the extinguishing agent is without Fluorosurfactants (PFAS). The Presto Fire Extinguisher LB6 is also environmentally certified, as evidenced by the Milieukeur environmental label.
