SOF® Tourniquet Gen 5 with a wide compression band
SOF Tourniquet Gen 5 by TacMed Solutions is a windlass tourniquet for controlling severe bleeding from arms and legs. Often searched under the older SOF-T and SOFTT-W names, it supports one- or two-handed application.
Aluminium windlass and visible slack indicator
The 3.8 cm low-stretch polyester band runs through a reinforced buckle. The windlass is machined from aircraft-grade aluminium. A contrasting indicator beneath the windlass shows when excess slack has been removed; TRAC™ and Tri-Ring Lock™ secure it.
Opening buckle
The composite buckle can be opened and reconnected, facilitating placement around a trapped arm or leg. Manufacturer specifications give a weight of 105 g and folded dimensions of 14.0 × 5.0 × 3.8 cm.
